about

This album is a reflection on the past season of transitions and to explore some more meditative soundscapes, while utilizing some instruments that I have not really explored in my music and to assist with these explorations, I am so grateful to have had such wonderful musicians and friends on this album.
Nicole Anderson brought her healing harps tones to "Kind Harp" and Zero Ohms added some stellar tin whistle on "To The New Earth", in which we worked to pare the high register sounds of the whistle with the low tones of the tuba.
Scott Lawlor added the vocal synth magic to "minor planet", a song that conveys what a planet that's atmosphere was inhabited by the voice of Enya might sound like. This concept was explored after reading about an asteroid that is named after the Irish singer / songwriter.
Mike Benoit lended some creative effects to "Focus On Reality and Return to Calmness". I had to ask his right away how he did it!
Cousin Silas played some beautiful atmospheric guitar as he so masterfully does on "Dream of the North Land" A song about traveling to whatever "north land" you wish to visit.
The title song was one in which I was intent to improvise a piece that helped to reflect on the events of the year, those reflections culminated on another song tilted "Farm Life", which I focused on the farm that my family moved to this past summer and composed in a pastoral style. I dusted off the banjo and mandolin for that song in hopes of providing an ambient space for those folk instruments.
Thank you for listening to the album and thanks again to the fine musicians and friends that contributed to it.

Sincerely,
Jason M. Miller aka Film Score Project
